Session abstract

Modern distributed systems demand observability that operates at the speed of the kernel. Surgical Extraction moves beyond the overhead of traditional sidecars and instrumentation agents. We dive into the internal mechanics of eBPF-based telemetry to achieve sub-millisecond insight without perturbing the host system.

Participants will learn to implement low-overhead hooks into kernel-level events, bypassing the user-space context switching that often masks the very latency deltas they seek to measure. We focus on the architectural discipline required to reconstruct complex logic schemas from raw packet and syscall streams.
